It is through this path that we interact with the communities where the project operates and come into contact with local ecological knowledge. At Toninhas do Brasil, environmental education is approached in a critical, constructive and mature manner, always with creativity, sensitivity and ludicity. In addition to raising awareness on the importance of conserving franciscanas and their ecosystems, we seek to promote experiences of contact with nature and, based on this enchantment, elicit a collaborative construction of meaning and knowledge. Since its inception, the project has been an ally of educators, offering didactic material, training and experiences that complement the skills and knowledge built during classes. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our team conducts lectures, interactive exhibitions and activities both in and out of the classroom, providing dynamic, participatory and organic learning experiences. We also offer teaching support for planning activities aimed at all stages of basic and higher education, working with educators and according to their needs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, through our environmental education course, we help teachers bring the principles of ocean literacy to their students. In the cities of S\u00e3o Francisco do Sul, Caraguatatuba, Ubatuba and Laguna, educators partnering with the project will have the opportunity to implement the didactic material from \u201cthe Franciscana Treasure Chest\u201d in their classrooms. Through the \u201cTem Toninha Aqui\u201d (\u201cFranciscanas Are Here\u201d) events, we present the species and its ecosystems on beaches in Santa Catarina, Paran\u00e1 and S\u00e3o Paulo. On October 1st, we celebrate the International Franciscana Day, in which online and face-to-face actions are carried out, in conjunction with partners from all over Brazil.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In exhibitions and lectures, we bring elements of coastal and marine biodiversity within the reach of people&#8217;s hands, teaching and learning with those who are part of these ecosystems. The exhibitions have a rich support material, with real taxidermied animals, skeletons, life-size models, photos and explanatory panels, in addition to games and recreational activities.
